Luis Hernandez has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Luis is currently serving as the Editor in Chief at Alta and TradeSmith, LLC since 2022. Prior to this, they were the Editor in Chief at InvestorPlace from 2019 to present. Luis also held the position of Managing Editor/Head of Audience Development at InvestorPlace from 2018 to 2019.
Before joining InvestorPlace, Luis served as the Director of Strategy at FDAnews from 2017 to 2018. Luis was also the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Advisor at Mequoda Systems from 2015 to 2017.
Additionally, Luis worked as the Vice President of the Specialized Information Publishers Association at the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they were the Director of Publishing at Thompson Publishing Group for a period of over 15 years, where they led the transition from a print-focused company to a modern media company.
Luis began their career as a Senior Research Associate at Barrera Associaes in 1995, where they provided detailed reports analyzing environmental and regulatory reform legislation. Luis also worked as a Project Manager at Indus Corp. from 1991 to 1994, managing teams and completing projects for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Luis Hernandez attended St. Mary's University from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Luis then pursued a Master of Arts degree in English from Georgetown University from 1987 to 1989.
