Charles A. Corr

Dr. Corr is Professor emeritus, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, former Chairperson of the International Work Group on Death, Dying, and Bereavement (IWG), a long-time member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC), Senior Editor of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization's Pediatric e-Journal, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Suncoast Hospice Institute. Dr. Corr's work as an educator and writer has been honored by numerous awards including Lifetime Achievement awards from IWG and ADEC. His publications include over 130 chapters and articles in professional journals, along with more than three dozen books and booklets, the most recent of which is the 8th edition of Death & Dying, Life & Living (Boston: Cengage, 2019).

Founded out of tragedy in 1994, TAPS has grown and established itself as the front line resource to families and loved ones of our military men and women. TAPS has provided comfort and care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through comprehensive services and programs including peer based emotional support, case work assistance, crisis intervention, and grief and trauma resources. TAPS provides ongoing emotional help, hope, and healing to all who are grieving the death of a loved one in military service to America, regardless of relationship to the deceased, geography, or circumstance of the death.
