Elizabeth Crunk-Sikhuashvili

Dr. Crunk-Sikhaushvili is a researcher, practitioner, and educator in Washington, D.C., where she maintains an active grief therapy practice. She holds an academic appointment as a Courtesy Assistant Professor at the George Washington University, where she conducts research and teaches and supervises counselors-in-training. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Memphis and a PhD in Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida. Clinically, she specializes in working with adults who are grieving the loss of a loved one, particularly those who are struggling to adapt to their loss. Her research focuses on grief coping, complicated grief, psychometrics and scale development, and psychotherapeutic processes. Dr. Crunk-Sikhuashvili has published articles, empirical papers, and novel assessment tools in peer-reviewed journals. A major research interest of hers is grief coping, including specific grief coping strategies, as well as factors that might facilitate or hinder adaptive coping following the loss of a loved one. She led the development and validation of the Coping Assessment for Bereavement and Loss Experiences (CABLE), a brief instrument that is designed to assess constructive strategies that bereaved individuals might employ to cope with their grief. She is a frequent conference presenter and has presented over 70 workshops, presentations, and webinars on grief and counselor education nationally and internationally. Dr. Crunk-Sikhuashvili is the Immediate Past President of the European Branch of the American Counseling Association and is dedicated to promoting grief education and bereavement support around the globe.

TAPS has provided comfort and care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through comprehensive services and programs including peer based emotional support, case work assistance, crisis intervention, and grief and trauma resources.
