Senior Director, Project Controls at Trans Mountain

Fady Phalestin, PMP has a diverse and extensive work experience in project controls and management. Fady currently holds the position of Senior Director, Project Controls at Trans Mountain, where they provide leadership to the Project Controls team and oversees the delivery of the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.

Prior to their current role, Fady worked at Worley for almost a decade, starting as the Manager of Project Controls, Canada West Operations and eventually becoming the Director of Project Controls & Estimating - North America West. Fady played a crucial role in enhancing project controls tools and strategies, improving project execution, and developing risk response procedures. Fady also led a team of up to 30 project controls professionals and was responsible for recruitment, performance management, and creating high-performance teams.

Before joining Worley, Fady worked at Jacobs as the Manager of Project Controls, Canadian Operations, where they contributed to business development activities and implemented corporate estimating and project controls tools. Fady also served as the Project Controls Lead for the NOVA Alliance, successfully managing program budgets, schedules, and change management.

Earlier in their career, Fady worked at SNC-Lavalin as a Team Lead, Project Controls, where they developed project control execution strategies for major mega EPC projects in northern Alberta. Fady also worked as a Planner/Scheduler, overseeing the development of detailed schedules and analyzing cost and schedule variances.

Fady started their career at Turner Construction as a Project Control Systems Engineer, where they developed detailed schedules and implemented recovery plans for a significant project. Fady also worked as a Project Control Systems Engineer at Belco contracting and as a Technical Office Engineer at General Nile for Roads and Bridges.

Overall, Fady Phalestin has consistently demonstrated their expertise in project controls and management, contributing to the successful delivery of various projects throughout their career.

Fady Phalestin, PMP, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture Engineering from Ain Shams University, which they completed between 1998 and 2002. In 2001 and 2002, they also obtained a Certificate in Business Administration from The American University in Cairo. Additionally, Fady has various certifications, including a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2011, and Verified International Academic Qualifications from the World Education Services in 2018. Fady is also in the process of obtaining certifications in "Communicating to Drive People to Take Action" and "Developing Executive Presence" from LinkedIn, set to be completed in 2023.
