Lydia Giles has a diverse work experience in the field of tax. Lydia began their career at PwC as a Senior Associate in 2007 and then moved on to Suncor as a Tax Analyst in 2010. In 2012, they joined Ernst & Young as a Senior Tax Staff. Following this, they worked at Trinidad Drilling as a Tax Analyst and then as a Senior Tax Analyst. In 2019, Lydia joined TransAlta as a Tax Advisor and gradually progressed to roles such as Sr. Tax Advisor, Tax Manager, and currently holds the position of Director, Corporate Tax.
Lydia Giles obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Accounting from Mount Royal University in 2007. Later, in 2011, they completed the Chartered Accountant Designation from the CA School of Business. In 2015 and 2016, Lydia Giles attended the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) to undertake the In-Depth Tax Levels I - III and In-Depth International Tax Course, respectively.
