Jimmy McDermott has a diverse range of work experience in the technology industry. Jimmy is currently the CTO and Co-Founder of Transeo, a cloud-based educational tool that helps track and report community service learning and internship experiences for high school students. Prior to their current role, Jimmy worked at Apple as a member of the Swift on Server Workgroup (SSWG), collaborating with other members to support community initiatives and improve the ecosystem.
Before their time at Apple, Jimmy founded 162, a boutique software development agency specializing in building mobile apps and websites quickly. Jimmy had the opportunity to work with various clients, including casinos, health programs, rideshare startups, and theatre organizations.
Jimmy also founded Glimpse, where they built and launched an iOS application that allowed high school administrators to interact with students through their smartphones, promoting events and tracking engagement.
In addition to their entrepreneurial ventures, Jimmy worked as an iOS Engineer at BlueLine Labs, developing applications for clients and backend services. Jimmy was involved in all stages of software design and delivery and directly interacted with clients.
Earlier in their career, Jimmy worked as an iOS Engineering Apprentice at Vokal, focusing on learning iOS development and agile programming skills. Jimmy worked on client projects and also assisted the business development team with a new deal proposal.
