Tony Bernal has over two decades of leadership experience, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Transition Projects since December 1998, where responsibilities include managing public funding for a $33 million organization, overseeing low-income housing development, and leading equity initiatives. Prior to this role, Tony taught nonprofit management, communication theory, and several other communication-focused courses at Marylhurst University from September 1997 to January 2018. Additionally, experience as a Teaching Assistant at UC Davis involved curriculum development for public speaking. Early work as a Self-employed Nonprofit Consultant included contract consulting for various nonprofit agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area. Educational accomplishments include a Master's degree in Rhetoric and Communication from the University of California, Davis, and ongoing doctoral coursework in Communications at The University of Texas at Austin.
