Heather Doss McLendon has diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to the present. Their most recent role as a Spiritual Care Counselor at Transitions LifeCare began in October 2014 and is ongoing. Before that, they were a Chaplain Resident at WakeMed from August 2013 to August 2014. Prior to pursuing their career in spiritual care, Heather was a Full-Time Student, pursuing an MDiv at Asbury Theological Seminary from August 2008 to May 2013. Heather also worked as a Corporate Sales Manager at Paul J Rizzo Conference Center from October 2007 to July 2008 and Sheraton Raleigh Hotel from July 2006 to October 2007. Lastly, from July 2002 to July 2006, Heather served as a Program Coordinator for the Principals' Executive Program.

Heather Doss McLendon completed their high school education at Person High School, earning a Diploma in the year 1996. Heather then pursued their Bachelor's degree at Elon University from 1996 to 2000, majoring in Communications. Following this, Heather went on to complete their Masters of Divinity degree at Asbury Theological Seminary from 2008 to 2013.

Celebrating life since 1979, Transitions LifeCare was founded as Hospice of Wake County in 1979 and provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to those living with an advanced illness, their caregivers and those who have lost a loved one. Our services include hospice care, palliative care, home health, caregiver support, and grief counseling. Services are provided regardless of age, race, religion or financial circumstances. Our service area includes eastern Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Harnett, Johnston, and Wake counties, as well as Chapel Hill and Carrboro (Orange County). Guided by community-based boards of directors and supported by a dedicated professional staff, our goal is to provide compassionate hospice care that allows patients to enjoy every moment of their lives to the fullest.
