Lauren DeVan has a diverse work experience in the social work field. Lauren started their career as an intern at the City of Iowa City - Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center in 2009. After that, they worked as a Girl Services Manager at the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa from 2010 to 2012. Following this, they joined HCI Care Services as a Hospice Social Worker from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, they interned as a Social Work Intern in the Inpatient Med./Surg. department at the Veteran Administration. Currently, Lauren is working at Transitions LifeCare as a Medical Social Worker, a role they have held since 2015.
Lauren DeVan completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa from 2005 to 2009. Following that, they pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Social Work, also at the University of Iowa, from 2013 to 2015.

Transitions LifeCare
Celebrating life since 1979, Transitions LifeCare was founded as Hospice of Wake County in 1979 and provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to those living with an advanced illness, their caregivers and those who have lost a loved one. Our services include hospice care, palliative care, home health, caregiver support, and grief counseling. Services are provided regardless of age, race, religion or financial circumstances. Our service area includes eastern Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Harnett, Johnston, and Wake counties, as well as Chapel Hill and Carrboro (Orange County). Guided by community-based boards of directors and supported by a dedicated professional staff, our goal is to provide compassionate hospice care that allows patients to enjoy every moment of their lives to the fullest.
