Pediatric Palliative Care Specialist- Family Support at Transitions LifeCare

Siena Buckley began their work experience in 2015 as a Program Support at Bright Horizons, where they worked until 2018. In 2017, they also served as a Mentor at Community Hope YMCA. From 2018 to 2020, Siena held various roles at Ronald McDonald House of Durham & Wake, including an Intern and a Guest Services Volunteer. In 2018, they also started working as a Child Advocate at Friends of Wake County Guardian ad Litem Program. In 2019, Siena interned as a Student Intern at Prison Arts Co. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as an MSW Intern at UNC Adams School of Dentistry Craniofacial Center and as a BSW Intern at Wake County Child Welfare, Foster Care. Currently, Siena is employed as a Pediatric Palliative Care Specialist- Family Support at Transitions LifeCare, starting in July 2021.

Siena Buckley obtained a Baccalaureate of Social Work degree from North Carolina State University, which they pursued from 2016 to 2020. Following this, from 2020 to 2021, Siena pursued a Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Transitions LifeCare

Celebrating life since 1979, Transitions LifeCare was founded as Hospice of Wake County in 1979 and provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to those living with an advanced illness, their caregivers and those who have lost a loved one. Our services include hospice care, palliative care, home health, caregiver support, and grief counseling. Services are provided regardless of age, race, religion or financial circumstances. Our service area includes eastern Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Harnett, Johnston, and Wake counties, as well as Chapel Hill and Carrboro (Orange County). Guided by community-based boards of directors and supported by a dedicated professional staff, our goal is to provide compassionate hospice care that allows patients to enjoy every moment of their lives to the fullest.
