Brian O'Neill has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Brian started their career as a Biotechnology Commercialisation Specialist at Enterprise Ireland/NovaUCD in 2003. Brian then went on to hold various roles at Enterprise Ireland, including Vice President of BioPharma and Senior Business Development Adviser. From 2013 to 2016, they managed high potential start-ups and worked as the Head of Lifesciences at Enterprise Ireland. Brian also served as the Director of Lifesciences, where they were responsible for lifesciences and food commercialisation. In 2016, Brian joined Abbott as the Director and Global Head of Innovation & External Collaboration for Established Pharmaceuticals. Most recently, they are working as the Global Vice President, Innovation, Technology & Operations at Transitions Optical.
Brian O'Neill completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Galway, from 1991 to 1995. Brian then pursued a Ph.D in Human Molecular Genetics at Trinity College Dublin from 1995 to 2000. After that, they attended University College Dublin from 2000 to 2002, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
