John Tinsley

John Tinsley is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the field of machine translation and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at the Unicode Consortium since January 2025, Tinsley also holds the position of VP of AI Solutions at Translated from April 2023. As an Advisor at Moyee Coffee UK & Ireland since September 2022, Tinsley supports the FairChain Coffee Revolution. Previously, Tinsley was VP of AI Product and Marketing at RWS Group from April 2013 to September 2022, where responsibilities included leading the integration of teams and rebranding under the Language Weaver banner. Tinsley co-founded Iconic in 2013, which was acquired by RWS Group in 2020. Additionally, Tinsley has worked as an Independent Consultant for the European Commission and held various roles at Dublin City University. Tinsley holds a PhD in Computing (Machine Translation) from Dublin City University and has academic experience from Universitat Politècnica de València.
