Thomas Guilbaud

Nuclear Engineer at Transmutex SA

Thomas Guilbaud has a diverse work experience in the field of nuclear engineering and simulations. Thomas is currently a PhD student at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where they are a member of the Laboratory for Reactor Physics and Systems Behaviour. Prior to this, they worked as a Nuclear Engineer at Transmutex and completed an internship in ADS neutronics at the same company. Thomas also worked as an Applications and Nuclear Simulations Developer at ATRON METROLOGY, where they developed a web application for dose estimation in multi-material samples and conducted automated simulations using MCNPX and ShellScript. In addition, Thomas completed a Simulations Development Internship at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, where they worked on the improvement of particle transport software and performed simulations of ultracold neutrons.

Thomas Guilbaud began their education in 2016 at Lycée François 1er, where they pursued a Classe Préparatoire aux Grandes Écoles in Mathematics and Physics. In 2018, they enrolled at ENSICAEN - École Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Caen and completed a Master of Engineering in Nuclear Engineering in 2021. Presently, Thomas is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Nuclear Engineering at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), starting in 2022.
