Shamil Talip serves as the Executive Manager in the Chief Digital Office at Transnet SOC Ltd since September 2023, following a prominent role as Head of Information Management at Transnet Freight Rail from November 2021 to September 2023, where responsibilities included leading the insights function for the Security and Forensics Department. Shamil was instrumental in establishing a Fusion Centre for data-driven decision-making. Prior to these roles, Shamil served as Senior Manager in the In-House Management Consultancy Division at Transnet SOC Ltd, where contributions included pioneering the internal management consultancy and designing operational models. Shamil also held positions such as Programme Manager for the Durban-Gauteng Rail Corridor and various roles at ESKOM and Orange France Telecom, focusing on ICT project management and mobile device solutions development.
