Director GaN Power Product Process R&D at Transphorm

John Gritters has over 35 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. John began their career in 1983 as an Engineer in Photolithography at Intel Corporation. In 1985, they moved to Bipolar Integrated Technology as a Process Area Manager and Fab Engineering Manager of Process & Device Development. In 1993, they joined Burr-Brown Corporation as a Staff Engineer of Process Integration & Development. In 1994, they became a Principal Engineer and Director of Process & Device Development at LinFinity Microelectronics, which later became MicroSemi. In 1999, they took on the role of Director of MEMS and VP of Engineering at OMM, Inc. In 2003, they became the Sr. Director and VP of MEMS Technologies at FormFactor. Since 2011, they have been the Director of GaN Power Product Process R&D and Director of GaN Power Products Process Development at Transphorm Inc., where they are responsible for architecting next generation 650V and higher GaN processes and HEMT product design in collaboration with the Japan foundry team, as well as completing product qualification and quality metrics and integrating and qualifying new product features and capabilities into the process flow.

John Gritters attended Oregon State University from 1979 to 1983, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
