Alyson Geller is an experienced professional in public health and community engagement, currently serving as Support Services Manager at Transportation Alternatives since February 2023. Prior to this role, Alyson worked as Vision Zero Engagement Manager at Walk San Francisco and as Community Engagement Coordinator at Brandeis Marin. In addition, Alyson has a strong background in writing and advocacy, with experience as an Education and Public Health Consultant for We Save Lives, addressing issues related to highway safety and distracted driving. Alyson has also contributed extensively as a freelance health and lifestyle writer, as well as a feature writer for the American Journal of Public Health. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Health Behavior and Communication from UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from Trinity College-Hartford.

Transportation Alternatives’ mission is to reclaim New York City's streets from the automobile and to advocate for better bicycling, walking, and public transit for all New Yorkers. Streets and sidewalks are 80% of our public space in New York City – but right now, our lives are polluted, congested, and endangered by car and truck traffic. Transportation Alternatives believes that this public space belongs to the people of New York City, and we are working with New Yorkers in every borough to reclaim our streets.
