Umang Patel

Umang Patel serves as the Head of Techops, Service Management, and SRE at Transurban since July 2023, focusing on building capabilities to support business growth through tech operations, database engineering, and service management. Prior to this role, Umang worked at Commonwealth Bank from 2008 to July 2023, where responsibilities included end-to-end technical service delivery for Institutional Banking & Markets, leading teams of over 150 engineers, and managing operational risk for a global business. Additional roles included Executive Manager positions in Capital Markets IT and Payments and Banking Service Delivery, where Umang drove sourcing transformation, managed financial aspects of service delivery, and ensured compliance and governance. Previous experience also encompasses a range of technical roles including Application Engineer and Systems Administrator, along with multiple certifications in Cisco and Microsoft technologies, capped by a Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems from CQUniversity.
