Juan A. López-Tamez is an experienced architectural professional currently serving as the Library Architectural Project Manager for the Johnson County, KS Government since March 2018. In this role, Juan leads design and construction projects for the Johnson County Library, overseeing facilities management across 14 branches. Previous positions include Construction Project Manager at Payless ShoeSource, where responsibilities included managing remodeling and new store construction across multiple regions, and Company Owner at Architectur-AL Studio, focusing on organizational projects and pro-bono work for low-income and non-profit entities. Juan also contributed to operations at Abengoa, was the Director of Design and Construction at 7xa Taller de Arquitectura, and began professional training at Camargo Arquitectos. Academically, Juan holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and completed a certificate in Future Library Design from Harvard GSD Executive Education in August 2025. Juan is also a LEED® Green Associate™.
