Esme Jones is an accomplished marketing professional with extensive experience across various sectors. Currently serving as the Engagement and Marketing Director at Trees for Cities since October 2023, Esme has previously held notable positions including Head of Brand and Marketing at Barnardo's from October 2019 to October 2023, and Senior Marketing Manager at Diabetes UK from July 2017 to October 2019. Additional roles encompass Digital Marketing Manager at Diabetes UK, Product Manager (Content and Innovation) at New Scientist, and Digital Campaign Manager (Freelance) at Educate for Life. Early career experience includes Digital Manager roles at Zone and Big Group, along with Marketing Manager at Knowledge Peers plc. Esme holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Language from UCL and a Master of Science in Social Anthropology and Development Studies from Birkbeck, University of London.

Trees for Cities is the only independent charity working on a global scale focused entirely on planting urban trees, inspiring children to grow and eat good food and providing volunteering opportunities to bring local people together. Since our inception we have engaged over 80,000 volunteers to plant over 800,000 trees focusing on health, food security, environmental protection, and providing opportunities for education and learning through our Edible Playground and Urban Forest programmes. Our vision to plant trees in cities is global. However, we know the importance of a local focus – we empower and work with local people to strengthen their community. We are a game-changing, ambitious organisation which sets the standard for urban tree planting worldwide.
