Fondée en 1889, l'entreprise Saint James est l'un des fleurons du tricot français. Réputée initialement pour son chandail marin, dans la plus pure lignée des tisserands et drapiers qui firent vivre la ville au Moyen Âge, la marque du sud-Manche a progressivement développé toute une gamme de prêt-à-porter, dont la qualité reconnue en a fait un succès hexagonal, et même mondial, des boutiques existant même au Japon, en Suisse et aux États-Unis. Fabriqués dans la ville du même nom, dont elle est le premier employeur, Saint James y dispose de son unité de production, qui emploie aujourd'hui environ 300 personnes. Contrôle des fils, tricotage, assemblage sont autant d'étapes indispensables pratiquées ici. Le “ made in Saint James " n'est pas une mince valeur !
