Trident United Way
Bridget Durkan Laird serves as the Chief Advancement Officer at Trident United Way since October 2024, where responsibilities include overseeing strategic initiatives in philanthropy, communications, marketing, and volunteer engagement. Active in various organizations, Bridget holds board member positions at PURE Theatre and Turn90, while also serving as an Ambassador for the Leap Ambassadors Community since 2010. Formerly the CEO of WINGS for Kids for 26 years, Bridget focused on equipping at-risk children with essential skills for success. Additionally, Bridget was Board Chair of Altruity Foundation from October 2021 to July 2024 and participated as a Liberty Fellow at The Aspen Institute from June 2014 to June 2016. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University and a Master's degree from Concordia College.

We work to make real, long-lasting change through collective impact, a systematic approach in which many partners agree in advance on how they will approach the issue at hand and how they will determine success. These collaborations require a backbone organization to manage the partnership and ensure communication among the partners. Trident United Way often plays that backbone role.
