Jim Kirkland

Jim Kirkland serves as the Senior Vice President of External Affairs and General Counsel at Trimble Inc. since June 2008, contributing to the company's mission of connecting the physical and digital worlds through innovation in positioning, modeling, connectivity, and data analytics. In addition, Jim holds the position of President and is a member of the Executive Committee at the GPS Innovation Alliance, which focuses on enhancing GPS technology. Jim also serves on the Board of Directors for the California Emerging Technology Fund, a non-profit established to promote technology advancements in California. Prior experience includes roles at Covad Communications and Clearwire, where strategic development and legal counsel were key responsibilities. Jim's legal foundation was built at Harvard Law School, following a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and History from Georgetown University.
