Rick Oberschulte has a diverse work experience in the wine and brewing industry. Rick started their career as an Intern at Valley View Vineyards in 1988. In 1989, they worked as an Assistant Brewer at Rogue Brewery. In 2000, they joined Trinchero Family Estates as a Senior Winemaker and later became the Director of Winemaking - Blending and Finishing in 2009.

Rick Oberschulte received their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Southern Oregon University, where they studied from 1986 to 1989. Prior to that, they attended Rogue Community College from 1985 to 1986.
