Peter Sheekey

Peter Sheekey is a seasoned professional in the field of applied linguistics and language instruction, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at Intercultural Language Service in Dublin since 2009. Peter's PhD research explores how situated literacy aids marginalized adult migrant English language learners in developing new language identities, conducted within a diverse intercultural drop-in center in Dublin. As an EAP Tutor at Trinity College Dublin, Peter focuses on enhancing students' academic English skills for their university studies. In addition to these roles, Peter designs bespoke business English courses for Erasmus students with ISB Dublin and has extensive experience as a freelance ESOL tutor trainer across Europe. Peter's commitment to curriculum development and teacher training was further exemplified through roles at the Intercultural Drop-in Centre in Tallaght, which served as the site for doctoral research on language identities. Peter holds an MPhil in Teaching English as a Second Language from Trinity College Dublin.
