Tim Burns

Tim Burns is an accomplished musician and educator with extensive experience in various music genres, including blues, jazz, bluegrass, and folk. As the owner of Burns Music since 1990, Tim provides music for all occasions and offers instruction in guitar, bass, and music theory. Tim leads the bands Tim Burns & The Blues Express and 'S'Bout Time Jazz Quartet, and also oversees Acoustic Flight, which focuses on American Blue Grass, Folk, and Gypsy Jazz. In addition to performance, Tim has been an adjunct instructor at Triton College and previously at Moraine Valley Community College, where Tim taught a range of music courses. Tim holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Arts from DePaul University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the American Conservatory of Music.
