Cynthia Montgomery

Cynthia Montgomery is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in banking. Currently serving as SVP and Director of Communications for Retail and Small Business Banking at Truist since February 2021, Cynthia drives strategic oversight of internal and external communications while advising retail executive leaders. Previously, Cynthia held roles at SunTrust, now Truist, including Director of Communications for the Retail Community Bank and VP, Sr. Communications Manager for Branch & Premier Banking, managing communication efforts and providing thought leadership. Prior experience includes serving as Vice President of Regional Media Relations at PNC Bank, where Cynthia directed media relations efforts across multiple states, and a lengthy career at The Charlotte Observer, holding various editing positions. Cynthia holds a B.A. in Communications from Loyola University New Orleans and a Master’s Degree in Organization Development from Queens University in Charlotte, N.C.
