Marla Keenan

National Security Fellow, Member Board Director at Truman National Security Project

Marla Keenan is a seasoned expert in civilian harm mitigation and human security with extensive experience in policy advocacy and implementation. Currently serving as a Principal Advisor at CNA Corporation since October 2021, Marla also operates Marla Keenan Consulting LLC, which was founded in October 2017 to devise innovative strategies for a diverse clientele. Active with the Truman National Security Project as a National Security Fellow and a Member of the Board of Directors since January 2015, Marla has contributed significantly to civilian protection practices through various roles, including Senior International Security Policy Fellow at New America and Adjunct Senior Fellow at The Stimson Center. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Director at the Center for Civilians in Conflict and working with Citizens for Global Solutions. Marla holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy Analysis & International Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business & Public Administration from the University of Arizona.
