Vikas Cheruku

Vikas Cheruku has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies. Vikas is currently employed at Truveta as a Principal Software Engineer since May 2022. Previously, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Truveta from August 2021 to April 2022. Before joining Truveta, Vikas was associated with Microsoft, where they held the position of Senior Software Engineer from September 2020 to August 2021. During their tenure at Microsoft, they focused on owning and driving the Bing Image and Video index publishing pipeline. Vikas also worked on revamping publishing dynamic document features to reduce the time to index from 6 days to about 2 days. Additionally, they co-owned the organic feature publishing pipeline, resulting in faster publishing of new and changed documents to the index.

Prior to Microsoft, Vikas worked at Dell EMC from June 2013 to November 2016 as a Software Engineer. There, they were involved in developing custom features on multiple storage protocols for the backup and recovery solutions division. Vikas was also responsible for writing unit tests for the developed utilities and features.

Vikas began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from May 2012 to May 2013, working on their master's thesis focused on developing a secure system for virtual laboratories in a cloud-based environment. Vikas also worked as a Web Developer for the NC 10 percent campaign from November 2011 to June 2012.
