Dr. Andreas Schwab

Global Head - Medical Software (tcc) / Lead Auditor at TÜV Rheinland Group

Dr. Andreas Schwab has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Dr. Andreas is currently working at TÜV Rheinland Group as the Deputy Global Head - Medical Software and Lead Auditor, where they lead expert teams and provides expert knowledge in the assessment of standalone medical software, software-driven medical devices, AI/ML driven devices, and information security. Dr. Andreas is also responsible for conducting audits for ISO 13485, EU MDR, and MDSAP. Prior to their current role, Dr. Schwab held various positions as a Senior Product Expert and Auditor at TÜV Rheinland Group.

Before joining TÜV Rheinland Group, Dr. Schwab worked at Raylytic as a 1st Day Software Engineer, where they were involved in software development and project lead for ISO 27001 certification. Dr. Andreas also worked as a Doctoral Candidate and Researcher at the Institut für Medizinische Physik, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, where they conducted research and doctoral studies.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Schwab worked as a Software Developer at CT Imaging and as a Working Student at Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, PTB. Dr. Andreas also pursued an Auslandsstudium (study abroad) at the University of Dundee.

Dr. Andreas Schwab obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biomedical Engineering from Technische Universität Ilmenau from 2006 to 2012.
