Amanda Gerdes is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in data engineering and management across prominent technology companies. Currently serving as VP of Engineering for the Data Platform at Twitch since March 2022, Amanda previously held senior positions at Instagram, where responsibilities included overseeing a talented team focused on data engineering for the platform's Growth pillar. Prior to Instagram, Amanda spent over seven years at Blizzard Entertainment in various managerial roles, contributing to the creation of data strategies and governance programs. Earlier career roles include significant contributions at Fetch Technologies and the Merced County Office of Education, with a strong foundational education including an M.B.A and M.S. in Systems Engineering from Loyola Marymount University and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.
