Tjaart van der Walt is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the banking and finance sectors. As Director and Co-founder at Tyme since August 2018, Tjaart has been instrumental in advancing digital banking solutions. Previously, as Co-founder and CEO of TYME Group from June 2012 to July 2017, Tjaart led the development of digital banks like Mobile Money in South Africa and EBank in Namibia, culminating in the sale of the company to Commonwealth Bank of Australia in January 2015. Tjaart's career also includes significant roles such as Director at CSense Systems, Joint CEO and Co-founder at RockIT Venture Capital, and Deputy General Manager at The Business Bank, alongside serving as Executive Director at the Foundation for Research Development.
