George Wandsella is an experienced risk management professional currently serving as a Committee Member for the South Africa RIG at the Institute of Risk Management since April 2024. As the Head of Operational Risk and Fraud at TymeBank, appointed in April 2021, George spearheads the creation and execution of comprehensive risk frameworks tailored for the South African market and promotes a strong risk culture within the organization. Previously, George held the position of Head of Fraud Operations at Standard Bank Group from March 2018 to March 2021, overseeing fraud management across 19 African countries. Educationally, George is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of South Africa, having previously completed a Bachelor of Commerce specializing in Law, along with certifications in Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk Management in Banking.
