Dionne Toombs

Dr. Dionne Toombs, Ph.D., currently serves as the Acting Director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture and as the Director of the Office of the Chief Scientist at the USDA, where responsibilities include overseeing critical programs in agricultural sciences. Previously, Dr. Toombs held the position of Acting Associate Director at the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center within USDA-ARS. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Nutrition Sciences from Howard University, a Master's degree in Food Science from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bethune-Cookman University.
