Alexander Rees

Alexander Rees is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in energy efficiency and research. As the Residential HVAC and Water Heating Lead at the U.S. Department of Energy since July 2022, Alexander manages a $25M+ portfolio with over 50 projects aimed at transforming the market and reducing energy costs. Prior to this role, Alexander served as a Science, Technology, & Policy Fellow with the Global CO2 Initiative, focusing on low-embodied carbon solutions, and contributed to significant collaborative research efforts on carbon legislation. With a strong educational background in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, including both a Master's and Bachelor's degree, Alexander has also excelled in various research and instructional roles, earning recognition as an outstanding graduate student instructor.
