Michael Hein

Michael Hein currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Office of Foreign Investment and National Security at the U.S. Department of Energy, a position held since July 2019, where responsibilities include leading CFIUS Mitigation and Monitoring. Prior to this role, Michael Hein had a distinguished military career as an Army Officer, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in April 2023 with a focus on Infantry and Military Intelligence. Earlier professional experience includes serving as a Partner at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, specializing in corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, and securities, as well as an Associate at White & Case LLP, focusing on corporate finance and cross-border transactions.
