Richard Schomberg has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as VP of Smart Energy Standards at EDF Group Corporate since January 2011. In addition, Richard has held various influential positions at the International Electrotechnical Commission since 1997, including Chairman of the Smart Energy Strategic Group and President Elect for both System Aspects for Energy and Nuclear Instrumentation. Richard also contributes to technology strategy as a Technology Strategist for the U.S. Department of Energy, a role initiated in January 2007. Prior to these roles, Richard was a Professor of System Engineering at Supelec from 1995 to 2001. Richard holds a Master's degree in Complex System Engineering and Automation from CentraleSupélec, earned between 1979 and 1982.
