Abigail Swanson is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Investigative Counsel at HUD OIG since June 2023. Prior to this role, Abigail held multiple positions at Chicago Public Schools, including Assistant Inspector General and Staff Attorney, where responsibilities included analyzing staff-on-student sexual abuse allegations and drafting investigative summary reports. Previous experience includes serving as an Attorney at Foley & Mansfield, PLLP, and a Staff Attorney for the 18th Judicial Circuit Court, alongside various clerkship roles at state attorney’s offices with a focus on criminal and civil law. Abigail earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature from the University of Iowa.
