Marcus MacIel

Marcus Maciel is an accomplished cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in security research and development, currently serving as the Head of Cybersecurity at Ubiquiti Inc. since July 2017. Previously held roles include Security R&D Manager and Security R&D Engineer at Ubiquiti. As the founder and maintainer of Under-Linux.Org, involvement in open-source projects has been significant since December 2000. Prior positions at Arbor Networks included Tier 3 Escalation Engineer and Senior Technical Support Engineer. Additional experience encompasses roles as a Security/Firewall Engineer at AT&T, IBM, and Embratel, along with a tenure as a System Administrator at Resenet. Marcus earned a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Faculdade Politecnica de Campinas between 2006 and 2009.
