Artur Amorim, PhD, currently serves as Group CTO and Machine Learning Engineer at UBS since January 2023. Prior to this role, Artur was a Research Engineer at BioMind from January 2022 to November 2022 and a researcher at Universidade do Porto from 2016 to 2021. At Universidade do Porto, significant contributions included implementing and developing mathematical models in C++ and Python, optimizing numerical calculations significantly, and publishing results in leading high energy physics journals. Earlier, Artur was a researcher at Laboratório de Instrumentação e Física Experimental de Partículas, where notable achievements included the implementation of models for particle processes and the use of machine learning techniques for event classification. Educationally, Artur holds a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, as well as an MS and BS in Physics, all from Universidade do Porto.
