Angela Perone, PhD, JD, MSW, MA, is an accomplished academic and legal professional currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Director at the Center for the Advanced Study of Aging Services at the University of California, Berkeley since July 2022. In addition, Perone holds the position of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow at the National Academy of Medicine since September 2021 and previously served as a Congressional Health Policy Fellow in the United States Senate from January 2022 to August 2022. As the Founding Executive Director of SAGE Metro Detroit from February 2016 to August 2021, Perone made significant contributions to aging services. Additional legal experience includes roles as Staff Attorney at the National Center for Lesbian Rights and Associate Civil Rights Attorney at Rukin Hyland Doria & Tindall LLP. Perone's educational background includes a PhD in Social Work and Sociology, multiple master's degrees, and a Juris Doctor from prestigious institutions such as the University of Michigan and the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco.
