Kerry McCartney serves as the Senior Executive Director of Development at UC San Diego since February 2022, overseeing development programs for four schools, including the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. McCartney co-owns Adams Property Management Co. and has held various prominent development roles, including Executive Director at Northwestern University and Director of Leadership Giving at UC Santa Barbara. Previous positions include Director of Leadership Gifts at UC Berkeley, Director of the Business School Fund at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College, and Director of Principal Gifts at Harvey Mudd College. McCartney holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from UCLA, an MA in Higher Education from Claremont Graduate University, and a BA in Organizational Studies from Pitzer College.
