Michael Downs is a seasoned architectural professional with extensive experience in managing large-scale capital projects. Since January 1998, Michael Downs has served as Principal Architect at the University of California, San Diego, overseeing the development of diverse academic and research facilities, with project budgets ranging from $200 million to $450 million, as part of a billion-dollar capital improvement plan. Prior to this role, from February 1988 to January 1998, Michael Downs was the Principal and Founder of Michael E Downs AIA + Associates, focused on providing architectural and design services for over 400 healthcare projects for Kaiser Permanente. Michael Downs holds a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and attended ArtCenter College of Design.
