Daniel Santos has extensive work experience in the legal and healthcare sectors. Daniel began their career in 1992 as a U.S. Navy Special Operations Officer, leading teams in high-risk diving and salvage operations. After leaving the Navy in 1999, they worked as an attorney at Eckert Seamans, focusing on transactional and regulatory counseling for insurers and healthcare organizations.

In 2005, Daniel joined Saul Ewing LLP, where they became known for managing complex health care initiatives and overseeing major client relationships. Daniel also served in leadership roles at the firm. In 2010, they moved to Williams Mullen, where they served as an attorney and lead counsel for strategic transactions.

In 2012, Daniel joined Sentara Health as Assistant General Counsel, overseeing complex legal matters and supervising diverse legal teams. Daniel played a crucial role in Sentara's multi-state expansion strategy and navigated acquisitions and joint ventures. In 2018, they were promoted to Associate General Counsel before leaving Sentara later that year.

Currently, Daniel holds the position of Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary at UCare. Daniel is a key member of UCare's executive leadership team and is responsible for the strategic direction of the organization. Daniel leads UCare's Legal Department and oversees various other departments, including compliance, internal audit, and equity & inclusion.

Throughout their career, Daniel has demonstrated strong leadership skills, refined their legal expertise, and built a reputation as a thought leader in the business and legal communities.

Daniel Santos completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia in 1992. Daniel later obtained a Juris Doctor degree in Law from Penn State Dickinson Law in 2002. Daniel Santos has obtained various certifications as an attorney, including certifications from the Minnesota State Bar Association in 2019, the Virginia State Bar in 2011, The Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 2002, and the New Jersey Courts in 2002.
