Vice Chair, Parent Engagement at UCLA

Charlene Anderson serves as the Vice Chair of Parent Engagement at UCLA since 2013, leading the Parents' Council in fostering community among parents of current students and training volunteers in fundraising efforts. Additionally, Charlene has worked as a consultant in communications, engagement, and fundraising since March 2012, where responsibilities include planning PR campaigns and crafting engaging content. Previously, Charlene spent over three decades at The Planetary Society, starting as Associate Director and Editor of The Planetary Report, where achievements included founding the publication and initiating numerous programs to promote space exploration. Earlier roles include serving as Associate Editor for The Cousteau Society and managing a photo collection at The Sea Library. Charlene holds both an M.A. and B.A. in English from UCLA.
