FIFA Council at UEFA

George Koumas studied business tourism and hotel management in Germany before returning to his hometown of Paralimni, where he ran businesses relating to tourism, sports tourism, television licensing and media. He also served as president of Enosis Neon Paralimni FC.

In 2005, he was named deputy general secretary of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), and two years later, he took on the role of CFA deputy president. Koumas was elected as CFA president in March 2018, succeeding the late Costakis Koutsokoumnis.

In May 2018, the UEFA Executive Committee appointed George Koumas to replace Costakis Koutsokoumnis on the FIFA Council until the 2019 UEFA Congress. He was re-elected as a FIFA Council member for the 2019-21 period at UEFA's Rome Congress in February 2019
