Leydy Rangel has extensive work experience in communications and media. Leydy started their career at UFW Foundation in 2017, where they held roles such as Civic Participation and Policy Organizer, Communications Specialist, and National Communications Manager. In these positions, they were responsible for developing communication strategies, creating high-level content, and serving as a spokesperson for the organization. Leydy also worked as an Op-Ed Contributor at Desert Sun Media Group, contributing to opinion pieces. Additionally, they gained experience as a Student Journalist at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, where they wrote and edited articles for the student newspaper and served as an advisor on the editorial board of the Undergraduate Journal of Political Science.
Leydy Rangel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis on Journalism from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona. Leydy also pursued legal education at the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law, where they completed a Law Fellowship program.

For 15 years, the UFW Foundation has mobilized farm workers and their organizations across the country to advocate for more equitable policies, such as immigration reform, pesticide protections, heat standards, hazard pay, and other worker protections. We engage constituents in systemic change to break the cycle of poverty while also providing critical services. In fact, the UFW Foundation is the largest federally accredited immigration legal service provider in the state of California. The organization has staff in California, Washington, Arizona, Michigan, Washington D.C. and will be expanding to Georgia.
