Saiful Islam

Saiful Islam is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in data management and analytics within the healthcare sector. Currently serving as Vice President – Strategic Product and Technology Governance at UnitedHealth Group (Optum) since June 2017, Saiful Islam directs the overall data platform product and technology strategy while overseeing capabilities for various healthcare sectors. Saiful Islam also held a similar title at Optum from September 2006 to June 2017, where responsibilities included leading data management and analytics solutions for the Payment Integrity technology team. Prior experience includes roles at Thomson Reuters as a Director focused on quality assurance and application development, as well as positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic. Saiful Islam holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from St. Cloud State University.
