CEO at UKTV

Marcus joined multi-award winning broadcaster, UKTV, as CEO in June 2019. He is CEO of UKTV and President of BBC Studios UK & Ireland.

In conjunction with responsibility for all of BBC Studios' UK businesses, Marcus oversees the strategic direction of UKTV with the aim of driving growth to its brands and streaming service UKTV Play. His remit includes increasing the volume of UKTV Original productions to help deliver on BBC Studios' ambition to own more of its own IP. Marcus is also committed to attracting and retaining the best on and off-screen talent and creating an environment for UKTV and BBC Studios colleagues to do their best work.

As President of BBC Studios UK & Ireland, Marcus is responsible for BBC Studios' revenue in the UK & Ireland. In addition to UKTV, BBC Studios UK businesses include TV sales in the UK and Ireland; DVD and digital downloads; licensed merchandise; digital and physical publishing; music publishing and licensing; live events and clips licensing operation BBC Motion Gallery.

Until recently Marcus also oversaw BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand and the advertising division of GNL, the BBC's global news operation.

Prior to this role Marcus was MD, Global Brands, where his business worked in conjunction with other departments to drive greater value from the BBC's leading international and multi-format properties. Marcus has also held positions as Managing Director, BBC Magazines and Publishing Director, Radio Times.
