Richard Reel currently serves as a Senior Staff Engineer at Axiome, focusing on broad engineering and early prototype development since April 2024, and is also a Senior Staff Systems Engineer at Ultima Genomics since July 2022. Previously, Richard held the role of Principal Engineer and Senior Staff Engineer in Electronics at Genapsys from 2011 to August 2022, where responsibilities included electronic engineering, embedded firmware, and rapid prototyping. Richard’s expertise encompasses strong analog and digital circuit design, dense PCB layout using Altium Designer, high-performance firmware development, and mechanical design with SolidWorks. Richard’s background includes significant contributions as a Senior Staff Engineer at Life Technologies from 1989 to 2010, where Richard designed advanced imaging systems for cutting-edge research. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from The Ohio State University, completed in 1985.
