Partner & CFO at Ulu Ventures

Steve Reale is the CFO and a Venture Partner at Ulu Ventures. He has spent over 20 years working with private companies and small capitalization public companies in both investing and operating roles.

In addition to his role as CFO, Steve is focused on helping Ulu’s entrepreneurs develop their business models and scale their organizations.

Most recently, he co-founded Madison Bay Capital Partners, a growth equity platform, where he was an investing partner as well as oversaw all COO/CFO functions. Steve also spent 14 years at Levensohn Venture Partners (LVP) where he worked on a wide range companies and held board seats at BigFix (acquired by IBM), Broadlogic (acquired by Broadcom), and Capella (acquired by Alcatel Lucent). He also spent time working other LVP portfolio companies including Akros Silicon (acquired by Kinetic Technologies), Covigo (acquired by Symbol), Rapt (acquired by Microsoft), Reconnex (acquired by McAfee), and Shotspotter.

Prior to LVP, Steve held a variety of equity research positions at Robertson Stephens, Van Kasper & Company and JP Morgan where he covered industrial, business services and payment processing small cap companies. He also was an early employee and Director of Finance at ZuluSports, a content provider, where he was involved in strategy development, capital raising, and operations.

Steve is a graduate of Middlebury College, where he received a BA in international politics and economics as well as Japanese. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Kauffman Fellow in venture capital.
